By November 1999, the months following your arrival at Xavier's had begun to feel less like temporary recovery and more like an increasingly established place within the mansion. Training continued, field experience slowly accumulated, and the friendships formed around the original X-Men had begun extending beyond missions themselves.

Bobby's recent outing into Manhattan with you had been one of the first times that familiarity became something more personal, revealing how differently each member of the team existed once removed from uniforms, training rooms, and the expectations of the larger group.

Though, Warren Worthington had always seemed to remain one of the more effortless presences throughout that time—confident, capable, socially polished, and rarely seeming uncomfortable anywhere for long. Yet a couple of weeks after his recent birthday, he invited you somewhere none of your shared missions or months at Xavier's had yet taken you: the Worthington family estate in Centerport, Long Island.

What began simply as Warren bringing company to a family dinner offered a first glimpse into the life that had existed long before even his own time as a solo hero before joining the X-Men—the name, wealth, obligations, and expectations waiting for him whenever he returned home.
