In the weeks following the Manhattan construction-site incident, your unexplained secondary power remained one of the most persistent questions beneath everyday life at Xavier's mansion. Training continued, friendships deepened, and the events surrounding Elias Mercer gradually settled into the team's growing history, but Hank never stopped studying what had happened.

The same phenomenon that had previously intensified Jean Grey's abilities had somehow stabilized Mercer's mutation without suppressing it, leaving Hank with two very different reactions tied to the same mysterious power—and an increasingly large collection of medical scans, Danger Room telemetry, cellular samples, and field data with which to investigate it.

Hank had begun privately referring to the phenomenon as Evolutionary Energy, a provisional name for what he suspected might somehow interact with a Mutant's X-gene itself. At the same time, his own examinations had revealed continued physical progression within his mutation—changes he quietly researched alongside your unusual readings without explaining how personally the question had become.

Hank increasingly withdrew into his laboratory, convinced that greater understanding might allow him to regulate what his own body was becoming. But on November 27th, that research finally crossed from observation into experimentation—and catastrophically answered a question Hank had never intended to test so directly.
