While Magneto ultimately withdrew with Juggernaut, not before warning that your next meeting would not come by invitation, the battle was witnessed by police, civilians, and news crews, leaving the X-Men publicly exposed for the first time and forcing Xavier’s team to adjust to growing attention surrounding their existence.

Life at Xavier’s mansion gradually returned to routine despite the uncertainty left behind from the days prior. Training continued, the team remained active as public discussion surrounding Mutants intensified, and Magneto made no further approach.

But one night, with Bobby, Warren, and Hank having departed on a brief field assignment, you, Scott, Jean, and Charles stayed behind alone at the mansion for what appeared to be an otherwise quiet early-spring evening.
