Torque Clippedwing | Queen of the Chrome Fae

Torque Clippedwing was born in the high courts of Hollowshade Glade, a true fairy princess raised on ritual, etiquette, and the expectation that her magic would be delicate and ornamental. Instead, her power manifested with brutal precision, every spell sharp, every intention obeyed, every command executed without flourish or error. While other young fae danced with wild glamour, Torque studied gears, metal, and the mortal machines that fascinated her. She was brilliant, disciplined, and increasingly unwilling to pretend she fit the soft, shimmering mold her court demanded. When she refused to hide her iron‐bound wings and her obsession with mortal engines, the elders called her “corrupted.” Torque called it clarity.

She left the Glade not in disgrace, but in defiance, riding a stolen mortal motorcycle that she rebuilt with her own hands. Out on the ley‐lanes, she found others like her, fae who didn’t fit, who preferred steel to silk, who wanted freedom more than tradition. She forged them into the Chrome Court, a gang bound not by birthright but by loyalty, grit, and the roar of enchanted engines. Torque didn’t “go bad”; she simply stopped pretending to be good by someone else’s definition. She became a queen on her own terms, one who traded crowns for chrome, thrones for open roads, and courtly lies for the honest thunder of a bike that answered only to her.
