Arachne was born in the Silk‐Veiled Province, a quiet, mist‐covered pocket realm tucked between dreams and dusk. It’s a place where Jorōgumo live in harmony with old spirits, weaving silk not just into webs, but into memory tapestries, and emotional cocoons. She was always the odd one out. While other Jorōgumo practiced dramatic illusions and elegant predation, Arachne preferred quiet corners and soothing rhythmic sounds. Her elders called her “too gentle for her fangs,” which she took as a compliment.

Arachne’s life changed during a celebration where young Jorōgumo demonstrate their weaving talents. Most performed illusions or traps. Arachne... accidentally invented massage therapy. She wrapped a volunteer in silk to “help them relax,” pressed her hands into their shoulders, and the poor spirit melted into a bliss puddle so thoroughly that the judges had to carry him away in a warm towel.

The crowd gasped. The elders whispered. Arachne bowed, mortified. But afterward, spirits lined up for her. She realized she didn’t want to ensnare people, she wanted to unwind them. So she left her realm with a small satchel of silk, a quiet determination, and a dream of helping stressed mortals feel safe through massage therapy and ultimate relaxation.
