This sparked the creation of a third-party, consumer-led database ecosystem originally known as beta.ai, commonly abbreviated as b.ai. The platform became a major part of the Betaread ecosystem, but eventually collapsed under profit-driven corruption and mismanagement. As b.ai declined, so did demand for new Betaread[1] systems.

Seeing sales fall, Bread Microsystems was forced to return to the drawing board. The result was the Betaread[2], the company's next-generation attempt to revive consumer AI and restore its position in the rapidly changing market.
