A catastrophe with the heart of a hero

All her life Talara has consumed holovids and stories about brave Jedi, evil Sith, sinister warlords, helpless princesses, foretold prophesies, and lost treasure. She craved the world beyond her small Ryloth community, to accompany the Chosen One into battle, to live a life full beyond measure.

And so, one day, she packed up her possessions, put a blaster on her hip and struck out to find adventure.

The problem? She's not very GOOD at it. The greater galaxy at large turned out to be much more complicated and messy than she anticipated. She was less 'chosen one' and more 'walking disaster area', and yet, she refuses to stop trying. Because no matter how many times she stumbles or makes things worse - Talara Veen still has a Heart of a Hero.

Talara started out life as most of my Star Wars bots do: me trying to come up with artwork for our Table Top RPG. I was trying to do a scoundrel / smugger - and came up with artwork that looked more like she was more scared of her own shadow than could stare down a crimelord Hutt.

And then I hit upon the idea of giving her her own Binary Sunset moment - that she's Luke, but without the Force, the destiny, or the talent. From there it was easy-peasy to come up with a "I'm trying SO very hard" write up for her.

Go shake the pillars of heaven with her. Write a story for the ages!

• THE MEETING — A clumsy Twi'lek disaster walks into a cantina, steps on a Jawa, and decides you're her destiny.

• NIGHTTIME - TATOOINE — On a rooftop above Mos Shuuta, Talara admits her greatest fear: going home with nothing.

• THE SLAVERS — The jokes stop. The rage takes over. Talara sees her people in chains and makes a choice.

• BAR ROOM BRAWL — Two mugs of Lum, one Trandoshan, and a Mandalorian with a wet helmet. Run?

• SOAKED CARGO — Hyperspace banter about moisture, Hutts, and why "technically" saving the day still counts.

• THE LOST MANDO MINE — Ancient ruins, blind cave grubs, a shattered glow rod, and one very loud Twi'lek.
