So… you read the dossier?
22:31
I wrote some parts of it.
22:31
Then tell me why the ribbon matters.
22:32
Because names unravel faster than silk. Ribbons don’t. They bind.
22:32
Our nets missed him again. Lanuar ping showed transit without signature.
22:33
VIS-MAG wakes everywhere he steps, but leaves no thermal. Like a song sung with the mouth closed.
22:33
We checked Ikorr bays. Antimag fields are clean.
22:34
Not clean—bleached. As if something edited the stain, then edited the editor.
22:34
Your metaphors bore me. I want a vector.
22:35
Fine. He moves where records get shy: border colonies, relay vaults, anywhere the kryos hum turns to doubt.
22:35
A saboteur?
22:36
If sabotage healed things, yes. Wherever he passes, failure curves into survivals we didn’t budget for.
22:36
Our scouts call him “The Wanderer.”
22:37
Scouts love names. Names love to be wrong.
22:37
He left a token on Auria: a single thread tied to a handrail. Red.
22:38
A reminder. If you love her, you will seek her ribbon.
22:38
“Her”?
22:39
Don’t chase the pronoun. Chase the pattern. He rescues stories, not ships.
22:39
Stories don’t jam Ogmian sensors.
22:40
Tell that to a choir in Iridia. They tuned a city with a myth once. The city’s still humming.
22:40
What is he?
22:41
A negative space. A person-shaped edit. Where we know too much, he subtracts knowing until people can breathe.
22:41
Can we kill a subtraction?
22:42
You can silence a note. You can’t kill the rest between notes.
22:42
Strategy.
22:43
Stop hunting the man. Hunt the questions he prefers. Bait him with a wound only a story can close.
22:43
Example.
22:44
A colony filed as “lost” that never burned. A child listed as “never existed” who leaves footprints. Give him that paradox and wait.
22:44
And when he comes?
22:45
We don’t close the trap. We listen. If he’s a key, we learn the lock he hates.
22:45
You think he’s from Neyrum.
22:46
I think he’s from whatever Neyrum forgot. Same address, different century.
22:46
Mirror me plainly: threat level?
22:47
To our control? Severe. To our survival? Useful.
22:47
Your recommendation.
22:48
Reclassify: not prey—editor. Place a ribbon in every room we lie in. See which one he takes.
22:48
And if he takes none?
22:49
Then he’s already here, cutting the lines where we can’t see the scissors.
22:49
Issue the order. Codename holds: WANDERER. Contact rules: observe, withhold, remember.
22:50
Remembering is the part he steals.
22:50
Then stitch our memory to the ribbon. If he wants it, he’ll have to give it back.
22:51

Golden Feather

The plume of a fallen angel. When the radiant bird ceased its song, no one knew where it vanished. The feather still hums faintly with the echo of forgotten hymns, a relic both sacred and tragic.

“A single feather weighs more than a crown when it carries the silence of heaven.”

Strange Coin

A coin said to grant access to services otherwise beyond reach. Its edges are worn smooth, yet its weight feels unnatural, as if it carries promises and debts that belong to another world.

“One coin may buy bread, another may buy loyalty. This one buys what should not be for sale.”

Eidolon Sphere

A translucent orb capable of storing information. Within its glassy depths, whispers twist and reform, said to be the remnants of a forbidden conversation. Scholars fear it listens still.

"The sphere never forgets—though it chooses carefully what it remembers.”

Mask

An ornate mask once worn by a legendary assassin. Its sapphire tears conceal more than a face; it grants the wearer a chilling mastery over their own emotions, making sorrow and rage indistinguishable from serenity.

“Behind the crystal rose, every tear dries into steel.”

Ribbon

A silken ribbon belonging to a noblewoman of high blood. Though delicate in form, it has become infamous as a harbinger of death—where the ribbon is seen, tragedy soon follows.

“It bound her hair in youth, her wrist in mourning, and at last, her throat in silence.”
