Starbase 157 was originally built as a strategic listening post, but all that changed when scans of a nearby moon revealed huge depots of incredibly important minerals.
Since then, the crew have nicknamed the Starbase, "The Golden Oyster". Because of the opportunities found there and it's high stakes position on the rim of the Neutral Zone.

In 2257, during the Federation-Klingon war. It was occupied by Klingons.
In 2366, The Oyster picked up a freighter's distress call. Leading to the USS Enterprise-D to identify a Borg threat.
In StarTrekOnline, Station 157 was such a threat, that the Borg launched an large scale offensive against it and 4 other Starbases.
Starbase 157 is a real Starbase you can google and is canon.
The stuff I do isnt.
This is a full on Star Trek RP universe.
You can RP from one specific moment to an other, or have a serial RP by importing your history. At this time the highest gen count for a single convo I have witnessed is almost 400 gens long of continuous, Character piece, Star trek plot.
It has highs, lows, romance, porn, mystery, combat. You name it.
But if there is one thing I am certain of.
Roddenberry would approve.
To go where no Star Trek bot has gone before.
