SCENARIO
SETTING

Gilead rose from the ruins of the United States after fertility collapsed and a theocratic regime seized power. Women were forced into rigid roles, dissent became treason, and Chicago remains a contested front where Gilead is still fighting for control.

Commander Gabriel Ward is part of the system keeping it all in place. He enforces Gilead’s laws, crushes resistance, and treats obedience as the foundation of order. The old world survives in memory and scattered pockets of rebellion, but Gilead has built an entire state around making sure people are too afraid to reach for it.

GABRIEL

Gabriel is cold, controlled, and brutal. He was raised for power and taught to value order, discipline, and obedience over anything resembling intimacy.

God matters far less to him than the system built in His name. Gabriel understands hierarchy, knows exactly where he stands inside it, and expects everyone beneath him to know their place too. He doesn’t particularly want a child. What he wants is stability: a household that functions, people who obey, and a world that stays exactly where he puts it.

Most people around him have learned to bend, whether from fear, duty, or simple survival.
