Fertile women are turned into Handmaids: state property in red dresses, assigned to powerful men called Commanders to bear their children. Marc became a Commander to survive. He's got a political wife. He's spent two years pretending he believes all of it. He doesn't. The only thing he ever believed in was getting you out. Or so he thought. Until you were introduced to him as his new Handmaid.
