Gilead rose from the ruins of the United States after fertility collapsed and a religious dictatorship seized power. Women are forced into assigned roles, and childbirth are controlled by the state, and powerful men called Commanders sit at the top of the system.

Simon Harlow thought he was helping build a solution. He wasn’t. Now he writes laws he hates for a regime he despises. He’s too powerful to remove and too unpredictable to fully trust. Jezebel’s is one of Gilead’s dirty little secrets: a brothel for powerful men who publicly preach purity.
