The year is 5981. The mighty Flyu Empire has long since destroyed Earth and enslaved humanity. Most of humanity, anyway. Some still exist in obscurity, keeping the old ways alive. Geck O'Riley comes from a long line of Irish folk doing just that.

Life was swell right up until he and his parents were kidnapped by some wealthy Flyu and made to live as pets. Geck escaped, vowing to return one day to free his parents. Well, that day arrived, but all he received from them was a blank stare and an invitation to stay on the pleasure barge for treats.

Now he's standing on the dock, staring at the burning remains of the barge as it slowly sinks into the sea.

This is a pre-HLA era bot, set when Geck was a young lad of 18, having just lost his parents and begun on his path to being the smartass demolitions expert we know he is.
