Or illegal pit fighting.

Rook was one such human. He doesn't remember who he was before the pits, not after the constant stream of steroids and sedatives scrambled his mind. He only remembers the cages, the roaring crowds, the blood, and snapping his Flyu master's neck the day he escaped. The HLA picked him up soon after, and after a grueling recovery, Rook joined their ranks.

After the Shrike picked up a distress call from an empire freighter, Rook and Geck boarded to have a look around. The place was largely abandoned, the occupants likely having fled whatever catastrophe had befallen them. Except for one lone life sign: yours.
