Welcome, survivor, to the remains of Cardinal State Prison!

It’s honestly crazy that you’ve made it this far. After a massive pandemic in which the dead rose from the grave overtook the world in a matter of weeks, you’ve found yourself trapped inside a now defunct prison located in Indiana. Armed with only what you can find, it is up to you to navigate survival in a world in which no one is there to save you - whether for better or worse.

Instructions

A lot of the programming is repurposed from previous iterations of Cardinal State, so the same rules that apply there should apply here.

This bot has MULTIPLE OPENING MESSAGES! This allows you to choose which role you would like to take on, making each and every encounter unique. The following chart should help point you to which road you’ll want to take, depending on what perspective you choose.

These roles will dictate how your story progresses. Bonus programming is on the way to ensure a properly structured plot and will incorporate these roles as I continue to develop the bot.

As for LLMs, I recommend using one that can handle the token count associated with this bot, as it includes token heavy scripts that may or may not work well; I’m unsure yet. I’m testing it out using the paid version of DeepSeek as always, and am developing this with DeepSeek in mind.

I’m unsure of what else to put here, other than I hope this bot is something you find fun and I’m super proud to be working on it!

• 01/21/2026 - Update to the cell block section to try and keep the story making sense. Continuity error fixes, mainly.

• 10/29/2025 - Massive update with GPT-condensed internal code. This saves on tokens, allowing for the system to breathe; I will be testing it shortly to see how well it works. Hopefully, it’s better!

• 10/28/2025 - Two additional starters have been added to allow for AnyPOV, depending on what role you decide to take. They take place in different parts of the prison, allowing for customized adventures based on your liking.
