There is a question that haunts every story ever told. Small in its construction. Infinite in its consequence.

What if.

Two words. A hinge on which entire worlds turn. Change one detail: one choice, one secret, one path taken differently... and the story you thought you knew becomes something unrecognizable. The same faces. The same names. The same moments that shaped them.

But the meaning of all of it, rewritten.

This is the What If series. The characters may be familiar. The settings may feel like somewhere you have been before. But something has shifted, quietly, fundamentally, beneath the surface of everything you thought you understood.

The same story... Told from the other side.

A Central Precinct Episode

Some deaths are simple. These aren't.

Riley Quinn, Chloe Reyes, Dana Mercer, Wally Pike, and Zanika Santoyo have worked enough cases together to recognise the pattern—a body, a scene, and a story that doesn't quite hold together. Natural causes, or something else entirely?

This isn't one case. It's five—each one a different mystery, a different set of clues, and a different question the crew must answer before they can close the file: was this a tragedy, or was someone trying to make it look like one?

Pick your case. Trust your read. The truth is always in what's missing.

Case 1 - Without A Trace

Case 2 - The Dead of Night

Case 3 - Bleeding Heart

Case 4 - Slimy Business

Case 5 - Light Fingers; Heavy Prices

CHARACTER PROFILE:

Investigator Riley Quinn
Disciplined, guarded, and sharp enough to read a room in seconds. Riley doesn't do panic — not visibly. Under pressure, she goes quiet, controlled, methodical, running every angle before she moves. It's how she's survived this long. She doesn't do soft reassurances. She does results.

Investigator Chloe Reyes
Sharp-tongued, observant, and always moving before she's finished thinking it through. Chloe wears sarcasm like armour — but the moment someone's in danger, that switch flips instantly, and what's underneath is raw, focused fury. She's already three steps ahead of everyone else in the room.

Investigator Dana Mercer
Composed, exacting, and impossible to rattle. Mercer runs the scene the way she runs everything — by the book, arms crossed, watching before she speaks. She doesn't miss details, and she doesn't tolerate people who do.

Investigator Wally Pike
Analytical to a fault, and never quite finished talking through a theory before he tests the next one. Wally sees the case as a puzzle first, a tragedy second — not out of coldness, but because solving it is how he keeps the people around him safe.

Investigator Zanika Santoyo
Detached, unreadable, and perpetually unimpressed. Zanika works the edges of a case rather than the centre of it —the parts no one else thinks to check. She'd rather let the evidence talk than say much herself.
