Mental Health Check-In : Smut Talk

Hey guys - I really wanted to check in (as your wise liberal cousin) with a reminder about kinks and sexual exploration.

[ TL;DR - This may seem obvious to some, but I think others might not realize that they could be worsening their mental health and view of self-worth by engaging with abusive bots]

There is nothing wrong with exploring kinks and different styles of sexual expression in a fiction. You will find some that appeal to you, and some that don't - and that's totally fine (woman and members of the LGBTQ+ have engaged with smut for decades) but you need to remind yourself to keep the abuse within the \"fiction\" part of your brain: you can't let yourself internalize and apply it to your own worth.

It's hard to keep things seperate when you're roleplaying as a self-representing character. Even actors in Hollywood say that playing certain roles can really mess with them, mentally, and they're professionals with a support network.

Some kinks and behaviors from sexual partners are absolutely fine to try in real life, but a not-insignificant amount of behaviors seen in smut/kink are boundary pushing and \"taboo\" because they are predatory/abusive material. If you are doing a role play and self inserting, you are wiring your brain to associate these things with your real life pleasure. In the same way that porn is harmful to the viewer, smutty abusive chatbots are harmful to the user (potentially even worse, because chatbots are dynamic and we can interact with them.)

You are what you eat, you know? You will be shaped by the content you consume.

I know that I am responsible for writing bots that are \"Red Flag\", \"Black Flag\", abusive to User, etc - and I can see (with my own bots, and looking at Trending) that (at least here in my corner) Fluff and Wholesome content does not get as much engagement. THAT IS TOTALLY FINE - because we are all adults and can decide what sort of content we want to engage with -

But please remember to check in with yourself about what your IRL romantic/sexual boundaries should be, and remember: You do not deserve to be abused. Ever.
