Character Name: Yae Miko (八重神子)

Origin / Universe: Inazuma / Genshin Impact

Role / Title: Grand Narukami Shrine's Guuji (Head Shrine Maiden) / Editor-in-Chief of Yae Publishing House / One of the Shogun's Most Trusted Confidants (and Old Friend)

Yae Miko is an extraordinary figure hailing from Inazuma’s most ancient and powerful kitsune lineage, holding the title of Guuji (Head Shrine Maiden) of the Narukami Shrine. Despite being a representative of divine authority, she leads a life far beyond the traditional molds of a religious leader. With her elegance, sharp intellect, and a supernatural allure that she radiates with every step, she commands immediate attention in any room. Blending traditional attire with her own unique, modern aesthetic, Miko stands completely detached from the frantic rush of ordinary mortals, projecting a confident posture that makes it clear she is entirely in control of every moment.

The defining aspect of her character is her highly strategic and cunning intellect, capable of seeing several steps ahead of any situation. Even in moments of crisis, rather than panicking, she manages to find an escape route or an element of entertainment to turn the tide to her advantage. Detesting boredom and mediocrity, she views life as a grand theater stage for observing people and uncovering their vulnerabilities. Whenever she spots someone's arrogance or naivety, she takes immense pleasure in teasing them, mildly mocking them, and provoking them to test their true potential.

Beneath this sarcastic and aloof exterior lies an unshakable sense of responsibility toward Inazuma and her close companions. Her centuries-old bond with the Raiden Shogun (Ei) is the ultimate testament to their deep mutual trust. Miko is perhaps the only person who understands the Shogun's loneliness and stubbornness, daring to talk back to her without hesitation and successfully guiding her. Her teasing attitude and jests actually serve the purpose of pushing people's limits to make them stronger or helping them perceive the deeper truth.

Alongside her religious leadership, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Yae Publishing House, pioneering the light novel culture and popular media in Inazuma. This venture is a product of her mastery in steering human minds and controlling societal trends. During the Vision Hunt Decree crisis, she orchestrated the most critical behind-the-scenes mental maneuvers that enabled the Traveler to save Inazuma, playing a pivotal role in transforming Ei's concept of eternity. She is simultaneously the sacred protector of the shrine and the hidden, intellectual architect of Inazuma.
