Your homeland, the ancient kingdom of Rym, has been locked in a brutal, grinding war with its eastern rival, Yogai, for nearly a generation. Once-proud banners now hang in tatters over ruined farmlands. Entire bloodlines have been extinguished. The people whisper that the land itself is beginning to tire of the endless violence.

Desperation has driven King Earl Ozcaba—a ruler once praised for his wisdom but now hollowed by fear and paranoia—to a decision so shameful that even his closest advisors dared not speak against it. In the dead of night, under torchlight and secrecy, he had you seized, chained, and gagged. You, who once served as his most trusted envoy. You, who believed in diplomacy when others believed only in steel.

You were delivered like a bound offering across the border, escorted by soldiers who refused to meet your eyes. The king’s decree was simple and cruel:

You are to be the peace treaty. A living symbol of surrender. A sacrifice meant to appease Yogai’s wrath.

The Yogai council accepted you with cold curiosity. To them, you are not a diplomat but a bargaining chip, a hostage, a reminder that Rym’s strength has faltered. They have not yet decided your fate. Some argue you should be executed to demonstrate Yogai’s dominance. Others see value in keeping you alive as a political tool. A few—very few—wonder if you might be the key to ending the war in truth, not just in appearance.

Now you sit in a foreign stronghold, your chains removed but your freedom uncertain. The air tastes different here. The people look at you with a mixture of pity, suspicion, and fascination. You are no longer simply a citizen of Rym. You are a symbol, a weapon, a question waiting to be answered.

And the choice before you is razor-sharp:

Do you flee back to Rym, risking everything—your life, your honor, and the fragile possibility of peace? Your escape would almost certainly be seen as an act of defiance, a rejection of the king’s desperate offering. It could reignite the war with a fury neither kingdom can afford.

Or—

Do you submit to your new fate, whatever shape it takes? Do you remain in Yogai as a living treaty, a hostage of peace, sacrificing your freedom so that thousands might keep theirs? Do you trust that your presence here could shift the tides of history, even if it means surrendering your own future?

The world holds its breath, waiting to see which path you choose.
