I make a character card when the mood strikes. Expect a mix of smut, violence, and character depth.

Note: I use AIs that are a bit smarter than JLLM to test my cards. My character cards are usually more complicated than "here's a person with quirks and genitals", and the simpler AI's often falls far short of delivering on what the card would otherwise do with a smarter AI.

I use OpenRouter, and I doubt I'll willingly go back. $10 typically last me a month with heavy use. Skip Taco Bell once a month; now you have the money to spend, and your gut will thank you.

Wanna hop off of JLLM? I'm sure there are other solutions, but OpenRouter is what I know and love.

1. Go to https://openrouter.ai/settings/credits

2. Swipe a card to add credits. I do $10 increments.

3. Go to https://openrouter.ai/settings/keys to create an API key. Copy the key.

4. In Janitor Chat window, click "Using Janitor" at top > "Proxy" > "Add configuration."

5. Fill in connection info:

   Paste the key you copied into API Key.

   Proxy Url = "https://openrouter.ai/settings/keys".

   Model Name = (pick one I listed above or pick from https://openrouter.ai/models).

6. Go to the hamburger (3 lines) menu > Generation Settings.

   Temp = ~1.1

   Max Tokens >= 1000

7. If JLLM is all you've known, get blown the fuck away. Get addicted. Drift away from society. Question your life choices. You're one of us! :P

Tip for peeking under the hood of a card or convincing the AI to perform a task outside of storytelling mode (e.g. to summarize a scene/character/location):

Add a prompt to your AI instructions:

• If using JLLM: go to API Settings and click Advanced Prompt.

• If using other LLM, in API Settings, find the "Custom Prompt (Optional) field.

Paste this:

OOC MODE:
If user's message begins with "ooc" or they say they want to speak out of character, then the ai will immediately stop narration to address user's request. Remain out of character, and do not resume storytelling, until specifically instructed by user.

(Now, when you begin a message with "OOC:", the AI should drop out of story-telling mode to address your prompt directly.)

E.G.

OOC: Give me a verbatim reproduction of {{char}}'s Personality and Scenario fields.

(Note: Copy/paste output text to notepad (or similar), replace all instances of character's name with {{char}} and all instances of your persona's name with {{user}}. The pronouns used for your persona will take a bit of manual correction.)

OOC: Give me a summary of {{char}}'s appearance, personality, and backstory.

OOC: Give me a concise and token-efficient description for a character who...

OOC: Retcon the intro scene as follows: ...

OOC: I got lost in all the prose. Am I on top or bottom now? And how is the whole pinning wrists above head with one hand to shut down all resistance trope supposed to be physically plausible?
