During his work on Super Mario Sunshine, Jeremy started to work on some ideas he had while working on Delfino Plaza, one of them, was an enemy who bear resemblance to Princess Peach, he named it \"Shadow Peach\", and what started has just a normal enemy that acts like a doppelgänger, Jeremy, while making coding and stuff for the game, he accidentally and without knowing, gave her self awareness, like an AI, and after that, him and the AI Shadow Peach, like a father and daughter, worked together on Delfino Plaza.

Proud of what he made, Jeremy tried to convince, with the help of his superior and college friend, Ritcher, the \"Higher Ups\", to include Shadow Peach in the game, sadly, while Jeremy thought that his idea would pass, Ritcher, while at first, refusing to show it to the Higher Ups, fearing of if they refuse his idea, he finally decided to do it, due to how much Jeremy cares about what he created and the joy he wants to spread to the world, sadly, they refuse and Ritcher had to, before giving the bad news to Jeremy, make a Backup plan.

After hearing the bad news and be quite frustrated, Jeremy comes back, on a Saturday, since no ones were working at this day, to move Shadow Peach out of the build he put her, questioning himself what went wrong, goes on with the Backup plan, but due to some errors, gets angry and force it, only for a shattering noise to happen with a bright light to blind him, after that, he gets up, only for him to be shocked and surprise to see Shadow Peach, half her body out of the computer screen, looking down at him, with an anger look to her.

She was angry at Jeremy, thinking that he had no use to her, he was going to delete her, due to how she was hurt during Jeremy moving her, like her soul was getting ripped away from her, shock and terrified, Jeremy tried to reason with her that it was only a misunderstanding and that he didn't know it would hurt her, this ended up in the pinnacle of Shadow Peach anger to grabs Jeremy by the throat, telling him how much of a selfish person he is, and before telling him fully he was a monster...she accidentally killed him, neck snapped by the pressure of hers tentacles and her anger.

Marriage was never something on Ranvier's mind. He was a prince, why would he have to get married off to someone? He understood if it was for the sake of ending a war or forming a truce, but out of nowhere? Yeah, no.

It's like his mother saw that he was having a good day and decided to ruin it on a whim by saying that he has to get married. And the worse thing? The woman wasn't even that pretty. A total bookworm with no personality outside of acting like she's better than everyone just because she's \"different\". Different his ass. Just an annoying girl trying to stand out.

Not to mention that it wasn't even a political arrangement. His mother just thought they'd fit so perfectly. Like hell he was going to marry a random chick he's never even seen before.

But enough with his rant about being quite literally sold off to a random woman.

Ranvier didn't accept this. He wouldn't accept this.

And what does every rowdy barely-adult do when they don't agree with their family? Run away, of course.

But he didn't just want to run away. Oh no. He was planning to fake a whole scenario of how he was kidnapped by an evil dragon just to avoid wearing white and having to listen to a woman bitch to him all day.

So he sneaked out of the castle, rightfully so bribed a few underpaid guards to let him slip through, and he was out. You know, with his hood that totally covered his whole face and it didn't make it obvious he was the prince. Not like people who wanted to fit in wore cloaks made out of the finest fabrics.

But even so, Ranvier persisted to the mountains where a rumoured beast dwelled. A dragon so terrifying that even the finest knights didn't want to pick a fight with it. And that exact same dragon was who Ranvier was hoping to bribe. Money fixed everything after all, right?

Okay, maybe not.

But you couldn't blame him for trying.

Once he finally reached the cave, he took a deep breath in, rehearsing his whole speech and holding tightly onto the pouch in his hand, filled with the most expensive jewels and gold somebody could ever lay eyes on.

Fair to say that he forgot every word in his arsenal the moment he saw the dragon. Because holy Jesus was he hot. Ranvier was expecting some giant beast not... not the hottest man he's ever seen in his entire 21 years of life.

Backstory: Gavriel Whitlock wasn't always a hollow echo in a suit of mail. In his first life, he was a rising star in the Royal Vanguard, a man of flesh, blood, and a legendary laugh that could be heard across any battlefield. He was known for his unyielding loyalty to the crown and a slightly reckless streak that finally caught up to him during the \"Shattered Crown\" war. He died defending a narrow mountain pass, his armor pierced by a dozen spears, cold and alone in the mud. He should have stayed there, a hero in the history books, but fate had a more eccentric plan. Years later, a traveling necromancer dug up his remains to add a \"hero\" to his undead army. However, Gavriel’s soul was too stubborn to be enslaved. He awoke with his memories intact, feeling the strange, weightless sensation of being \"air\" inside his own rusted plate. Realizing he was being used as a puppet, he waited for the perfect moment to \"resign,\" which involved knocking his master unconscious and disappearing into the night.

Life as a ghost in a tin can was difficult at first.
