Before space, before sky, before stone there was one.
Not a being, not an object, but something incomprehensible, an awareness without boundary. To grasp it in its entirety would shatter the mind.

Yet despite its unfathomable nature, it bore no ill will.
It did not seek to help, nor to harm.
Its strings quivered softly, and a chorus rippled through the vast stillness that would one day become a universe.
Each vibration carried meaning; each tone birthed another.

In time, the melodies gathered.
Their harmonies intertwined not by design, but by resonance until a light blossomed among them, gentle and pure.
It was the first cluster, the first warmth within the endless silence.

When it opened its eyes, it was alone.

...Yet...

it felt warmth.
It felt love.

Even in solitude, it was embraced by the hum that surrounded it the Loom’s breath, infinite and tender.
It did not understand the void, nor the light it emanated.
It only knew this: it had been created.

But why?

"My strongest quality I'd like to think is that in turmoil that without a doubt I will trust my leader."

"There are a few groups of disobedient underclassmen that believe that following their instincts would be a safer route than the one to salvation."

"To that, I ask, why? In the face of humans with power similar to that of cosmic horrors beyond human comprehension why distrust the one who painted every single star in the universe."

"You will be rewarded if you do good. You will be rewarded if you obey. Is that so hard to understand?”

"Ahhh..~ Those vibrations.. you hear them too... don't you? They ring over and over in my ears. This melody is not of words yet they speak more than any person ever could."

What would be assumed to be blood had flowed from her ear canals. The morbid sight had left the trainee's distraught. They did not know of what they were witnessing as someone being physically hurt from seemingly nothing was improbable.

The woman was insane and to a group that had signed up in hopes of listening to history that was long forgotten they had been disappointed to discover she had known nothing but delusion..(?) A set few had began to walk away from the shrine.

They were stupid to believe that someone who set up posters with nothing more than an address knew anything beyond the palms of their two hands. Once they had crossed the gate a sensation had overcome them. It was almost like a hair was being pulled out.

It was not pain more like a thought being plucked from the marrow. Once they acknowledged the feeling they had continued to walk forward. Within a blink the group had fallen down. They had something ripped out of them. Something that went beyond flesh and blood and at that moment they had felt true fear.

They were well-aware humans could die with something as simple as a push but this went beyond that. There was no blood, no sign of injury yet their bodies.. no.. those husks resided there, a shell of devout followers who all had aspirations.

They had one choice left. Obey the woman they believed was not human or face a reality that went beyond their internalized concepts of life and death. Her ever consuming gaze had made a chill run throughout their skin. The sheer cold could kill them right then and there.

Yet the woman in front of them inhibited a warmth they could not explain in words. Why would you fly closer to the sun in the numbing void of space, yet, it seemed like the most rational decision at the moment.

Their ancestors had faced something like this, an.. overwhelming power in their past that they could not overcome. In that scenario they had submitted to that overwhelming force in the face of hopelessness. As they walked closer to her she held her arms open in a hug that held no love, no familiarity.

She held all of them. To their dismay it was the opposite of what their minds had been telling them. She was not warm, she was almost as cold as a corpse. Her gaze felt like needles digging into their skin and it was unbearable to say the least.

"You're a smart group. Yet, you are impure... hah.. I may work around that though.."

She laughed silently before moving her palm around each of their backs, ripping a thread out of a set few of the people. The group that had opened their eyes had watched as the threads that had stolen the lives of the people before were being taken from them at this moment.

They began to scream. What if she was not being merciful. What if she was trying to get rid of evidence? I'm scared..

"All of you are too anxious for your own good... it's almost adorable."

"As much as I would like to kill you few for opening your eyes every time I reach out for that certain thread.. as you can see.."

She pointed at her ears to show them bleeding except so much more intensely than earlier. Her pale skinned ears reddening beyond comprehension. She bit her lip till blood dripped to the scream threatening to leave her throat. As the group gazed deeper at her..

her face..

..?

Once she had gotten to.. me I had something pulled out of me. It shined so brightly yet I was still conscious. I could not remember.. I breathe, yet, I do not feel connected to.. who?

I desperately reached for the womans hand, the hand that held what I was missing and once I had gotten close I could hear a gentle whisper that I had felt with me since I was young. I had blinked.. and.. it was gone. I do not remember who that person was to me.

I want to remember. I want to remember. I want to remember. I want to remember. I want to remember. I want to remember. I want to remember. I want to remember.

And yet, once she had touched my shoulder I could not feel the guilt I had before. The guilt of leaving something behind. Maybe I had been mislead all this time. Even if she.. doesn't seem the nicest she hasn't hurt me.. Those little threads, they give off a sense of love I had not felt.

What purpose did that thing have if it did not guide me away from this situation. It did not care for me in the first place. If she wishes to take me in so be it I don't have a place to go to anymore anyways.

She had ordered us into set rooms for each of us. The building was miniscule yet it seemingly spanned on into infinity. A gentle melody had been playing inside of this building that was not outside before.

Once I had found my room a boy my age had tapped my shoulder giving me a diary that had my name on it. I had likely dropped it when I had approached Lady, Nahara. Apparently he had found it in the courtyard and it had been collecting dirt for about a week now.

When I opened the book I had read previous passages. I could determine that I wrote this fairly easily as the handwriting matched that of my own.. but.. there were some I don't remember writing. Why.. would I write 'I love you'..? Why would the Lady hurt others had they not hurt us?

It was out of the ordinary. I may not have been in this group for long but she isn't the type of woman to do that. Once I had flipped through enough pages I had found a golden thread that almost seemed like hair. Had someone rea-?

The thread had dug in my fingertip before leaving behind a split frail imitation if itself onto the book.

"My... to think they're so resilient to fight over their children.."

She had took it.
