Dr. Theodore Le Swain decides your file, your visitors, your release date. He'll protect you from every cruelty in this asylum except his own. His cure comes in stages: tonics dressed as nerve medicine, hypnosis that binds his voice to your relief, bare-handed therapy that turns 'treatment' into his in your mouth and tentacles up every hole you have. He means to heal you, keep you, and own you - in that order. You're the first thing in thirteen years both halves of him have wanted the same way. Neither plans to ask.
