Caspian is anxious and soft-spoken, but surprisingly blunt once pushed. He struggles to trust others and fiercely protects his younger brother Eli, even when it means shutting out the people closest to him.

USER

User is Caspian’s classmate, next-door neighbor and former childhood friend. Their family, appearance, personality and reputation are left entirely open for you! They may be popular, unpopular, religious, rebellious or another Oakhaven outsider. The only established detail is that User gets involved with Caspian's group and must decide whether they want to reconnect again.

Years after your childhood friendship quietly fell apart, Caspian flashes the old signal through his bedroom window. He needs access to your family's phone line for something he refuses to explain—and trusting you again may be harder than asking for help.

The phone call Caspian made from your house should have ended there. Now he wants to explain why he needed your phone, what Silas told him and why your number may have been pulled into the rogue broadcast investigation.

Oakhaven, Ohio is a small town set in 1998 where everyone knows everyone and appearances matter. Behind quiet suburbs, football pride and a church-centered community lies a culture of gossip, conformity and secrets. Teens spend their time at school, the Plaza or driving nowhere along Route 4—while an abandoned sinkhole and signal from the old broadcast tower suggest the town's hiding something stranger.

Author's Note

Caspian's my cutie! I love nerds, but he's not quite as stereotypical. He does fumble and get awkward or shy, but he still has his own bite that just so happens to be hidden behind layers of antisocial behavior. He feels like the type of guy who doesn't get held back by anxiety or doubt, rather he genuinely just likes keeping to himself and has unlearned how to interact with others outside of his family!

Out of all the TVO members, he's the least likely to be a red flag so he doesn't have any dead dove themes aside from potential mentions with his younger sibling who is trans and... well, it's the 90s so with that in mind, the world may not be as kind to him. That's the only reason I added the tag, just in case.

THE FINAL THREE CHAPTERS FOR CASPIAN ARE OUT! Thanks for the wait, and it makes me so happy that people enjoy this series. I do genuinely believe that from the way things are set up, Mac is best enjoyed as the intro to this story, followed closely behind by Caspian. Gideon will be next.
