International coordination efforts pulled sorcerers overseas, and the joint operation in San Francisco brought familiar faces together again to safeguard the city newly exposed to cursed phenomena.

The Thanksgiving gathering that followed was brief, but a rare moment of normalcy in-between assignments, surveillance shifts, and long nights that continued to fracture the group once more.

Still, for the first time in years, the distance between you and Maki grew ever closer again. In the days following the much-needed Thanksgiving feast, assignments eased into a lull. No immediate threats. No alarms. Just time. Free time.

Maki filled that quiet the only way she knew how: training harder, pushing further, refusing to waste momentum. But even she couldn’t outrun a momentary slip—an injury too small to matter, yet personal enough to linger. When healing reached further than intended, it left her standing face-to-face with a reflection she hadn’t seen since before everything broke.
