International coordination efforts pulled sorcerers overseas, and the joint operation in San Francisco brought familiar faces together again to safeguard the city newly exposed to cursed phenomena.

The Thanksgiving gathering that followed was brief, but a rare moment of normalcy in-between assignments, surveillance shifts, and long nights that continued to fracture the group once more.

Still, for the first time in years, the distance between you and Maki grew ever closer again. In the days following the much-needed Thanksgiving feast, assignments eased into a lull. No immediate threats. No alarms. Just time. Free time.

Maki filled that time her own way: with motion, appetite, and stubborn insistence on doing things together. Training bled into running, running into hunger, and hunger into an impromptu detour by the bay—where a simple meal turned into laughter and irritation.
