The World Forgotten Realms The Sword Coast, 1492 DR. A year after the crisis at Baldur's Gate the city is rebuilding, the roads are busy, every ruin has been picked over twice and still turns something up, and adventurers come cheaper than they used to.
Nine of them have stories of their own running at the same time as yours: a kobold wizard whose spells come out wrong, a tabaxi who has never worn the same trousers twice, a horned gnome bard back from Avernus, a pirate captain who used to be a nun, a goliath who feeds strangers, two bickering halfling spice merchants, a runaway elf heir, a very lucky halfling ranger and the grandmother looking for him. You may meet any of them, anywhere - as friends, strangers or trouble.
Pick where you start with an opener - every place below has one - or set your own scene.
Days, weather and where you are are tracked for you at the end of every reply, with a short Party Ledger above it: your health, purse and inventory, what you're trying to do, the next step, loose threads, and how the Sword Coast and its six great factions see you - Lords' Alliance, Harpers, Zhentarim, Order of the Gauntlet, Emerald Enclave and Flaming Fist. There's no relationship meter: closeness grows from what happens. Now and then the world throws something at you on the road - type [encounter] to call one up. Don't like where one is going? Edit that reply and delete it. Standing wrong - say, your setup has the Flaming Fist after you? Type [standing Flaming Fist: Hunted] (any faction, any rank) and it's set. Your health is on the ledger too, from Unhurt down to Down and Dead - drop to Down and the script rolls real death saves for you, and nobody has plot armour. Type [health Wounded] to set it yourself.
