The World Faerûn The Sword Coast, 1492 DR. Merchant ships run between Waterdeep, Baldur's Gate and Amn, and pirates prey on all of them from the Nelanther Isles. Slavers still sail where the law can't reach.

Half-orcs are judged on sight. Ilmater, the Crying God, teaches that mercy is strength and suffering shared is suffering halved. His faithful are healers, mostly. One of them is a pirate.

Captain Kego38 · she/her · 6'4 (193 cm)Kego was raised by the nuns of Ilmater in a cliff-top abbey, until pirates burned it and killed every sister she had. She survived under the chapel floor, threw away her vows and joined the very kind of crew who'd done it, to find out who.

Fourteen years later she captains her own ship. She robs only those who can recover, spares anyone who yields, gives a share of every haul to those in need, and sinks slavers. She blesses you, then punches the man who insulted you, and sings hymns to the tune of filthy shanties.

She finally has a name: a man who now sails respectable as a Waterdhavian lord. Ilmater says mercy. Every bone in her body says otherwise.
