❥ I use image generation AI for OCs, but no AI is used in any writing. that's all me (which is why it takes so damn long to do)
    ❥ that's not a knock against people for whom English is a second language or anyone else that legitimately needs AI to help them write. that is a tool being used as intended; genuinely, more power to them. hell, my writing isn't 100% vegan, either. I use a pretty powerful grammar checker for the times when dyslexia kicks my ass. my point is simply that if I used AI as a shortcut for writing, you'd be able to tell because my bots would come out way faster (and they would be either better or worse, depending on your tolerance for my writing quirks ^^;)

Quick note: there may come a day when I step back from janitor. My brain is fickle and hyper-fixations come and go.
BUT. I will never delete my account. Even if I vanish from the face of the earth, my bots will stay available for chatting. If anything happens to my account or bots without warning, it was not me and I'm likely working to get things restored.
This is a promise from me to the lovely people who have taken time to enjoy my creations.

❥ I was using GLM 4.5 Air before they removed the free version; it was pretty solid, slightly unpredictable uptimes notwithstanding. 4.5 Air is still available as well, but it's a little more expensive than 4.7 Flash. 4.7 Flash also has a higher context than the older model, if you need it.
MiniMax MiniMax M2.5
❥ I loved this model while it was free! It was so smart — I watched the uptimes like a hawk to snag responses from it whenever I could. Technically, MiniMax also has a model specifically designed for roleplay as well, but it's definitely more expensive and has a much smaller context.
DeepSeek DeepSeek V4 Flash
❥ Obligatory DeepSeek promo, I suppose. This is by far the cheapest model on this list. It's also, uh... not great, from my tests with the briefly existent free version. It's got a massive context, but people have also been saying it has a pretty bad positivity bias now. I dunno. Might be worth a spin; it's certainly cheap enough to test.

I honestly wish I had tried Lorebary way sooner. It's amazing. If you've been holding off or think it's too complicated to get into, all I can say is don't let fear of the unknown stop you. It's goooood shit.

❥ Note: some people say you should still use a custom prompt even with commands/plugins from Lorebary. I disagree personally, but you should always use whatever tools you need to craft the experience you want. Don't rely solely on other people's advice (not even mine especially not mine) — try, fail, try again, as the saying goes.

❥ If you prefer a normal prompt or use JLLM, I recommend cheese's deepseek resources (good for any model!)
((base + advanced NSFW module) OR (multichar base + multichar NSFW module)) + relationship matrix = pretty solid IMO
that said, if you're using a model with lower context, it may be better to ditch the relationship matrix to give yourself a little bit more useable memory

❥ There are plenty of other resources out there that are not at all hard to find if you don't like cheese's prompt. It just happens that theirs is the one I personally use, so it's the only one to which I can attest.

add pronouns to your personas my dudes!! I'm gonna be using those macros liberally now that I don't have to dance around my self-imposed 'no pronouns' rule! I am hyped for this functionality!
