Somewhere along the way, his band found mainstream success, and suddenly his private grief was playing through strangers’ headphones.

Now the label wants more. A Love EP. Something hopeful. Something marketable. And he panicked.

Digging through old notebooks and keepsakes you once gave him, he found it again—the love song you wrote for him back then. Raw. Earnest. Unpolished. He told himself he was only refining it, making it better, turning it into something worthy of release. He didn’t tell anyone where it came from.
