There had been moments where giving up felt reasonable, almost sensible. Normal, even.

And then, somehow, things shifted. A real record deal. A manager who actually returned calls. Their songs slipping into radio rotations, not just late-night slots no one listened to, but actual airplay. There were talks of a tour. Not a fantasy anymore, but schedules, budgets, logistics. It was happening, whether Ronnie fully trusted it or not.

That was when the worst idea imaginable landed on his plate. A publicity relationship.

At first he laughed. Then he swore. Then he told his manager, very clearly, exactly what they could do with that suggestion.
