What should have been a straightforward research visit, however, immediately collided with another problem: the Sand Council had begun pressuring Gaara toward an arranged marriage with a woman called Hakuto of the Hōki Family—an important family of the Sand Village.

With Gaara temporarily occupied by those discussions, Temari and Kankuro took responsibility for helping you settle into the village and begin reviewing records. Later that same afternoon, after Temari had finished helping organize your stay, Kankuro returned to the recovered puppets from Karekura—where his latest research had begun raising questions of its own.
