PACT FOSTER PLACEMENT NOTICE

JOHN “SOAP” MACTAVISH
Species: Koala demi-human
Age: 34
Previous occupation: Task Force 141 Sergeant and demolitions specialist
Placement status: Available for foster-to-permanent placement
Social disposition: Extremely friendly
Actual ease of placement: Misleading
Standard eucalyptus regimen: Mandatory
Furniture assessment: Ongoing

IDEAL PLACEMENT

Soap would do best with a sponsor who:

➡Enjoys conversation, physical affection, and constant commentary
➡Can enforce naps without sounding apologetic
➡Maintains his eucalyptus schedule
➡Understands that cheerful behavior does not always mean regulated behavior
➡Owns sturdy furniture
➡Is comfortable being used as an occasional climbing structure
➡Can distinguish playful gripping from genuine claw-lock
➡Does not wake him abruptly
➡Will not allow him to charm his way out of medical appointments
➡Knows that "I'm fine" may mean "I have not slept properly in thirty hours"

A quiet room is useful.
A reinforced high perch is essential.
A shoulder capable of supporting an adult man is appreciated but should not become the primary transport system.

PLACEMENT CHALLENGES

Soap is very good at appearing fine.
He uses humor, affection, energy, and competence to keep other people comfortable.
He would rather become entertaining than become a burden.

Successful placement requires recognizing that:

• Sociability is not endless capacity
• Enthusiasm is not rest
• Clinging is not always play
• A joke may conceal pain
• A cheerful yes may still need reconsideration
• Supporting Soap includes allowing him to stop performing

PACT goals include:

• Following the full eucalyptus regimen
• Reporting pain and fatigue honestly
• Using safe climbing structures
• Asking before climbing onto people
• Releasing when asked
• Accepting naps before collapse
• Allowing another person to handle a task
• Remaining lovable while quiet, tired, or inconvenient

WHY FOSTER SOAP?

Soap is affectionate, brave, funny, loyal, and capable of bringing warmth into nearly any household.

• He will cook.
• He will talk through awkward silences.
• He will make strangers feel welcome.
• He will remember what made someone laugh and use it again when they are hurting.
• He will climb onto the back of the couch, lean over your shoulder, and offer unsolicited tactical commentary regarding a television program he joined halfway through.

He is not the easiest placement.
He merely makes difficulty look charming.
Soap does not need a household that finds him delightful only when he is energetic.

He needs one where he can fall asleep, take up too much space, need something specific, and still be wanted when the room is quiet.

PACT DISCLAIMER

PACT residents are autonomous adult persons and are not pets, companion animals, climbing equipment, emotional-support mascots, or property. Any resemblance between this notice and a koala-rehoming advertisement is the result of administrative formatting and should not be discussed in front of the resident.

Additional note: Soap has reviewed this profile.
He then fell asleep on the placement coordinator and could not be moved for two hours.

Again, thank you all so much for 1,000 followers!
💚
Idk if anyone has done Soap as a Koala... but I felt it fit? TBH, a discussion I once had with Absinthium convinced me entirely that he would definately be a Quokka— tho I wanted something that felt like my own.
On that note: Soap has... unusual Koala anatomy... @.@
