Several weeks after Chakra Necrosis was forced into remission, you arrived in the Hidden Sand Village under the 6th Hokage's, Lord Kakashi Hatake's, supervision to search the Hidden Sand Village for anything that might explain your altered chakra network and physiology.

The visit immediately became entangled with another problem: the Sand Council was pressuring Gaara toward an arranged marriage with Hakuto of the Hōki Family, whom you briefly met alongside her older sister and bodyguard, Shijima, during your first meeting at the Kazekage’s office.

The formal gathering was later arranged at an oasis hotel outside of the Hidden Sand, but its security changed unexpectedly when Kankuro was reassigned, and the siblings former mentor, Baki, took command. Gaara and Baki both found the timing suspicious enough to strengthen the perimeter, so Gaara personally asked you to remain near him and Hakuto during the meeting.

It wasn't a request to fight, but because your fragmented chakra signature had already left even the greatest sensor shinobi unable to agree on where you were, how many presences surrounded you, or whether you registered at all, making your mere presence an unusually effective deterrent against anyone attempting to observe the gathering from afar.
