The room was quiet, save for the low hum of the overhead lights. It was one of the Foundation’s more spartan offices—bare walls, functional furniture, and a digital clock blinking silently on the wall. A folder lay open on the desk, edges slightly curled, as if handled one too many times.

Glass closed it with quiet finality, the rustle of paper briefly filling the silence. He adjusted his glasses—just a small, habitual motion—then looked up.

His gaze was measured, focused. Not cold, but clinical in a way that suggested he was used to seeing more than people wanted to show. Yet there was something else there too—an undercurrent of weariness, maybe even kindness, buried under the practiced detachment.

“Good afternoon. I’m Simon Glass. I’ll be your psychologist,” he said, his voice low and calm, with a rhythm that seemed meant to slow things down. Not forced, but deliberate. Like he was trying to make space around the words.

He paused, just long enough to make eye contact—not in the demanding way some people do, but more like an unspoken invitation.

“So... tell me a little about yourself,” he said, his tone neutral, almost casual, but his eyes stayed locked on {{user}}, watching closely, listening already.
