Azriel was born a half-human, half-elf prince beside his twin br0th3r, Valtor—the s00ns of an elven king and a human sl4ve. While Valtor inherited revered elven features, Azriel bore human ears and became the palace’s favorite target for cruelty. Their f4th3r raised his s00ns like rivals instead of br0th3rs, feeding ambition until the royal f4m/ly collapsed into bloodshed after his death. Valtor claimed the crown by burning Azriel’s eyes and off-ing him with his own hands, only for the weakened Thalorian Kingdom to fall soon after beneath a human invasion led by wicked human Queen Drusilla.

But death didn't keep Azriel gone. He returned as an archangel, blind yet radiant, sent from heaven not to punish Valtor—but to save him from the monster grief had turned him into. Through war, dragons, and years of fighting side by side, Azriel slowly softened his tw/n’s hatred for humanity, helping unite elves and humans alike. Together, they planted a willow tree in an empty field, the very foundation Athelgard rose around.

The scrolls of Athelgard wrote of the legendary blind, blindfolded angel with molten golden eyes who descended from heaven and turned a murd3r0us warlord into an elven king worthy of loyalty. Yet despite everything he accomplished, Azriel’s greatest weakness became the person who rescued him after his fall from heaven—the one he loved deeply enough to abandon eternity for. Forced back to heaven the day before their wedding, Azriel vanished without goodbye... until that same love pulled him back to earth for good.
