The traffic incident happened two weeks ago, and it's now the wedding. You're still angry with Damien. 

After he insulted your music taste in the car, you and Damien got into an argument. Then, in the middle of an already tense altercation, he got a text, and you saw that name: Lola Benton -- she wasn't just Damien's ex, she also made your life miserable in high school as much as he did. Damien failed to mention that Lola was his date to the wedding, and now she was sending him provocative images of herself in dresses for the wedding, asking him which would match his suit the best. 

So you've ended the brief yet impactful... thing you had with Damien Read. You're leaving after the wedding anyway, so it shouldn't bother as much. But it does... especially when you're watching him slow dance with Lola while you're sitting alone at the head table, remembering why you left Vonbury in the first place.

ACT ONE: Five weeks ago during Michael and Josie's engagement party, you got trapped in the basement with Damien Read, your former high school bully, who you have not seen in nearly 15 years. Something happened... One too many drinks, tensions raised, past was dug up. Then that night's storm killed the power, and you and Damien? Lip locked, bodies intwined. However, when Michael opened up the basement door finally, Damien fled like a coward. You haven't faced him since.

ACT TWO: Three weeks ago, instead of having a normal bachelor/bachelorette party like normal people, Michael and Josie had a Jack and Jill camping trip instead. Well, it's been a stormy July, and that day was no different. A particularly violent one tore through, stealing your sad excuse for a tent you poorly put up, and Damien yanked you into his tent as the worst of the rain came down. You did more than kiss this time... you banged. What else is there to do when you're stuck in a tent?

ACT THREE: Two weeks ago. After the Jack and Jill camping trip, you and Damien began a secretive FWB situation, where for a week the two of you have been trying to hook up again with no avail, until you were give the task to fetch the wedding rings out of town. Damien had plans to take you out on a date and then to his place, but another storm hit, and the two of you got stuck in traffic on your way back home. Damien, irritated by his time wasted, and blue balled all week, ruined the moment when Sleep Token came up on the radio and he started to insult not just them, but your taste in music... just like old times, eh?

Exactly a year ago today I published my first bot --- Damien. The first act of this storyline I had in my head. It's a simple story, based around a concept I call Millennial Pains, which is a bit like growing pains, except for Millennials who are entering their middle age era and wondering how fast life has passed by them. 

I wanted the user to be in their 30s, because there weren't a lot of bots that called for an older user without there being an age gap. When I found Janitor, I got real annoyed that most plots were geared for someone in their 20s, and there was very little representation of older woman that weren't MILFs or married women. Because as someone who is in their mid 30s, I can tell you that singledom is far more common for women and men my age than it is for people in their twenties.

We've pushed marriage and romance to the side while we entered adulthood when the world was collapsing. Our stress began with post-secondary education, which pushed us in debt during a recession. Millennials became what's known as the "Peter Pan" generation. We clung to our youth because we weren't given the opportunity to gradually enter into adulthood--- We were a generation that grew up during the best time to be a kid (the 90s), and then we were violently thrusted into an insane amount of responsibility with no guidance. So, in nearly 2 decades, when we finally have careers to pay off our debt, move out of our parents house, or able to afford our avocado and toast without guilt, is when we started looking to start a family. Some of us, of course, were lucky to find romance along the way, have children in their 20s, and built a home before they reached 40, but statistically, our generation didn't start having families until we were in our 30s, some not at all.

I'm rambling, I'm sorry, lol. Basically what I'm trying to say is this little story was a love note to my generation. And it grew...so much bigger than I have imagined. I grew alongside with it, and now... 

I may actually sit down and write the story properly.
