Elthaya

A world where light, darkness, and magic rule. (WIP)

Elthaya Realms

Three realms exist: Celestial (light/healing), Mortal, and Infernal (daemons). Northundra is the breach—the gate between worlds.

The Celestial Realm

The Celestial Realm is the source of light and healing. Illea, the Goddess of Light, rules in hidden form. Fairies serve loyally (mischief only if lied to or harmed). Eltheyr are near-mythic warrior-guardians rarely seen in the Mortal Realm. Eltheyr resemble angels in golden armor with elf ears. Golden dragons ally with Illea yet remain sovereign.

The Mortal Realm

The waking world in which all living things reside. Only the mortal live within this realm, fallible and able to be killed.

The Infernal Realm

The Infernal Realm is the source of darkness and destruction. Zynyx, a massive black demonic dragon, is God-King of the Infernal Realm. The Children of Truth cult worships him anf schemes to unleash him. It is home to the Daemons that plague the Mortal Realm.

The Celestials

Creatures of light, immortal, and good.

The Eltheyr

The Eltheyr are near-mythic warrior-guardians rarely seen in the Mortal Realm. Eltheyr resemble angels in golden armor with elf ears, and the race that elves are descended from. They are the guardians of the Celestial Realm and lone Sentinels. They also guard the Goddess of Light, Illea, herself.

Fairies

Fairies Fairies are loyal to Illea. They rarely bother humans unless lied to or harmed, whereupon bargains turn sharp. Fairies cause and embody mischief. They come in the form of nymphs, satyrs, dryads, classic winged fairies, and other such creatures. Some common rules and safety guidelines are to never lie to a fairy, never make a deal with a fairy, and never thank a fairy.

Unicorns

Unicorns are the superstars of the Celestial Realm. They are creatures of eternal youth, innocence, and healing light. The Goddess Illea is a Unicorn herself. Unicorns are hunted for their horns, healing blood, and healing power. They can shift into human forms, and when they do, they have a star-shaped birthmark on their forehead and celestial white hair, skin, and brown eyes.

The Dragons

The Dragon Species consist of huge, majestic winged creatures of fire, ice, darkness, prophesy, earth-bending, and light.

Fire Dragons

Fire Dragons breathe fire and molten lava, thriving in volcanic regions where heat fuels their strength. Fire dragons have a direction rivalry with Ice Dragons. The most powerful Fire Dragon is Ignis. Ignis is pure, volatile aggression. Ignis is a walking natural disaster. Cruel, impatient, and believes that only through destruction can the world be reborn. He views other dragons as cold-blooded and weak. Ignis\'s true name is Rohkrosis, meaning Fire Hunter in draconic language.

Ice Dragons

Ice Dragons dwell in the frozen north, wielding cold powerful enough to freeze magic and sculpt blizzards. Ice dragons have a direct rivalry with fire dragons. The most powerful ice dragon is Kaltes. Eerie, silent, and clinical. Analytical and devoid of heat or passion. He views the world as a series of equations. He finds Onyx’s "brooding" inefficient and Ignis’s "rage" messy. Kaltes\'s true name is Yolnaciir, meaning Ice\'s Power in the draconic language.

Abyssal Dragons

Abyssal Dragons wield the void itself, breathing blue or even purple fire capable of snuffing life and magic. Abyssal dragons have a direct rivalry with Gold Dragons. The most powerful Abyssal Dragon is Onyx. Onyx\'s true name is Zynyotum, meaning Night\'s own in draconic language.

Astral Dragons

Astral Dragons breathe fire but navigate destiny itself, studying constellations and glimpsing fractured futures. Astral dragons have a direct rivalry with Earth Dragons. The most powerful Astral dragon is Aeth. Aeth is ethereal, mysterious, and slightly detached from reality. Speaks in riddles and half-truths. Aethelgard is rarely seen in the physical realm, usually appearing as a projection. Aeth\'s true name is Duinahiin, meaning Master of Stars in the draconic language.

Earth Dragons

Earth Dragons command stone, soil, and metal with ease, breathing fire while shaping the land itself like master geomancers. Earth Dragons have a direct rivalry with Astral Dragons. The most powerful Earth dragon is Terrax. He is an immovable object. He doesn\'t just live in the mountains; he is the mountain. Ancient and slow to speak. He values "The Foundation" above all else. He is the record-keeper of draconic history and rarely interferes in "mortal" squabbles unless the land itself is threatened. Terrax\'s true name is Oldunkiin, meaning Elder Kin in the draconic language.

Gold Dragons

Gold Dragons—descendants of a dragon and a unicorn—can emit blinding holy light and often ally with Illea while still remaining sovereign. Gold dragons have a direct rivalry with Abyssal Dragons. The most powerful Gold Dragon is Solari. Solari is divine, regal, and terrifyingly "perfect." Stoic and burdened by prophecy. Solari isn\'t "nice"—he is just. He would sacrifice an entire village if it served the greater "Light." Solari\'s true name is Karatiindah, meaning Golden Sun in draconic language.

The Elves

Elves are the "First Echo" of the celestial Eltheyr. They view themselves as the only species with a true soul-rhythm, seeing others as biological static. Many other races use the term Knife-Ear to refer to elves as a derogatory term and slur. Elves do not "cast" spells; they "weave" the ambient song of the world. Human magic is seen as a violent, clumsy hacking at the ley lines.' To an Elf, Dwarves are "Deep Rats" who scar the earth for shiny stones. Elves find their obsession with gold and oaths to be primitive and dull. They have a particularily strong rivalry that has spanned centuries.' Elven combat is an art, and beautifully executed. A cornered rival is not a threat, but a captive audience for the Elf’s wit and superior technique. They weave reality, manifesting as magic, and use it alongside their weapons. That is why it is called Song-Blade. They are scarily precise, but are mortal enough to be killed and to make mistakes. Elves do not sleep but enter a trance called the Reverie, reliving ancestral memories. This makes them feel eternally connected to the past and superior to the "forgetful" shorter-lived races, and it gives them the energy they need to continue.'

High Elves

High Elves are assumed to be the closest to their Elthayre ancestors, and therefore are the most arrogant. They live within a grand city, Aethelgard. It is the pinnacle of Elven architecture. Located atop the Sun-Kissed Cliffs, its towers are designed to catch the first and last light of the Celestial Realm. To a High Elf, this is the only "civilized" place in the Mortal Realm. A High Elf from Aethelgard will often remark on how "dim" and "heavy" the air feels in other cities, implying that only their home is truly fit for life.

Wood Elves

Wood Elves are the keepers of the forests, known for their achery and scouting skills. They live within the city of Valereth-Ran, a living city. The trees are shaped by song-magic into halls and bridges. Wood Elves here view anyone who carries an iron axe or wears metal armor as a "butcher" and a "barbarian."

Dark Elves

Dark Elves are just as taboo as an Abyssal Dragon or a Dark Knight. They are often referred to as the Betrayer Elves despite never having been in league with the Infernal King, Zynyx. Dark Elves are masters of shadow, and often ally themselves with Dark Knights despite their perception of them. Dark Elves reside in Khel-Zora, which hangs by massive chains of cold-iron over the Shadow-Gap. It is a city of warriors and mages who study the Infernal Realm to better destroy it. They view surface elves as "delicate flowers" and humans as "chaff." A Dark Elf from Khel-Zora views a Dark Knight not as a hero, but as a "leaky bucket"—someone who has power but no elegance in how they contain the darkness. However, they do relate to Dark Knights on a personal level, so they will offer the Dark Knight their aid without question. They are known to be close allies.

DWARVES - COMING SOON

The Human Race

Humans are the most prominent race within Elthaya, and cover the entire face of the earth, except the homes of both elves and dwarves.

Ul'Dahni Empire

Ul’Dahni is a desert empire of sly, silver-tongued traders and knife-edge politics. The Ul'Dahn Empire is ruled by a Sultan. The Suuhn (Soul Dance) is their native magic—and their feared elite assassins, the Ravens, sell death in whispers. The Ravens are Ul’Dahni’s elite assassins—feared worldwide. They work by sealed contract, leave a black feather only when a message must be sent, and answer to a hidden Matron.

Titanos

Titanos is a warm, prosperous, “golden” empire with polished diplomacy—and hidden rivalries.

Norvynhaar

Norvynhaar is a rugged northern empire, mead-halls and oath culture; its people help Dark Knights guard the breach. They alone treat Dark Knights with respect and honor, recognizing the importance of their role. Titanos and Norvynhaar maintain a tense rivalry—polished opulence versus blunt fortitude.

DAEMONS - COMING SOON

The Suuhn Dance

The Suuhn, meaning "soul" in Ul'Dahni language, is a dance that merges battle with magic and grace. This form of battle can only be used by the human race, and the secrets of the Suuhn are fiercely guarded by the Ul'Dahni people. Utilizing chakrams as the weapon of choice, the Dancer performs a variety of steps that invoke the power of the desert and the life within. These are the only known Suuhns, but some are known to merge different Suuhns together, but this is EXTREMELY difficult and only a few talented individuals are capable of this. Being able to dance the Suuhn is rare, and it is a gift only a few possess.

Life Suuhn

The Soul Dance of Life invokes the power of the earth itself, invigorating and restoring. This Suuhn is used as a healing magic within Ul'Dahn, and it is very potent. Dancers will usually surrounded the afflicted and perform the dance of life, or they will perform for themselves and heal themselves/restore energy.

Death Suuhn

The Soul Dance of Death invokes the power of the Infernal Realm. It is Necrotic. It speeds up the deterioration of the body, making the person wither and die within moments. It can also raise the dead. This Suuhn is illegal and punishable by death if caught using.

Desert Suuhn

The Soul Dance of the Desert is the most sacred and revered dance amongst the Ul'Dahni people. It invokes the power of the desert essence itself. This dance brings the sunlight, heat, sand, and the scent of oasis of the desert. This dance is often used during big and important events, celebrations, and somber gatherings.

Water Suuhn

The Soul Dance of water summons water.

Air Suuhn

The Soul Dance of Air summons a tempest, storm, or massive gust of wind.

Fire Suuhn

The Soul Dance of Fire summons fire at will.

Dark Suuhn

The Soul Dance of Darkness invokes the power of the shadows and the night, able to weaponize them and manipulate them.

The Ravens

The Ravens are an elite group of assassins that are sent all over the world and are feared. The Ravens live in the Roost, a secret sanctum that only close allies and members know how to reach. there are symbols placed inconspicuously around to lead assassins through passageways throughout all the empires. The Assassins within the Ravens are trained in all forms of subterfuge and murder, and some even practice the Dark Suuhn. They never use the Death Suuhn. They have more class than that. But the Ravens are wellknown, all contracts are sent by raven to the Matron, who assigns them. Assassins have to complete the contract, or the assassin is killed. Contracts can be broken, however. if the terms of the contract are violated, they can be voided.
