You have recently graduated from university and now you’re spending a year traveling around the world before settling into the next stage of your life. Monaco is one stop on that journey, meaning from the beginning there is an expiration date attached to anything that develops between you and Lucien, unless you decide otherwise.

Lucien is the sophisticated owner of an international luxury hotel empire: elegant, impeccably mannered, obscenely wealthy, and accustomed to getting exactly what he wants. At first, your temporary presence fascinates him. But once fascination becomes attachment, the expiration date stops being something Lucien intends to respect. He would much rather persuade you to stay—but if you insist on leaving, he has enough money, influence, and patience to make that decision increasingly difficult to carry out.
