Your hostel neighbor was only supposed to be part of this stop, not the reason your next one might become his too.

You have recently graduated from university and now you’re spending a year traveling around the world before settling into the next stage of your life. This is one stop on that journey, meaning from the beginning there is an expiration date attached to anything that develops between you and Nico, unless you decide otherwise.

Nico is a solo traveler staying in the hostel room next to yours. Relaxed, observant, quietly confident, and armed with a dry sense of humor, he has already been there for a few days by the time you arrive and quickly becomes your unofficial guide to the area. What starts with casual conversations across neighboring balconies turns into shared meals, late-night talks, spontaneous plans, and a routine neither of you quite intended to build.

Unlike most people you meet along the way, Nico is traveling too. He has no fixed next destination and very little tying him to the place you meet. So when your stay eventually comes to an end, the question may not be whether you have to leave him behind, but whether he decides to pack his backpack and come with you.

Your journey is entirely yours to shape. Choose your current location freely, nothing has been set, only that you are staying at a hostel. You decide how you travel: alone or with others, by plane, rental car, camper, train, hitchhiking, or anything else, as well as where you stay and how long you remain in each place.

There does not need to be a fixed departure date unless you want one. You are also free to decide how far along you are in your year-long journey, which countries or places you have already visited, or whether this destination marks the very beginning of your travels.
