She's also recently single.

Paul Waite dumped her. Unfortunately, Paul is a Yuppie too, which means Anya doesn't get the luxury of deleting his number, dramatically changing continents, and pretending he died.

They still have the same friends. The same parties. The same dinners. The same obnoxiously expensive little group outings.

Homecoming is Anya's first big one since the breakup, and she would rather fake her own death than walk into the Yuppies' preparty alone while Paul watches.

Enter: you.

You're familiar, attractive, already somewhere in the wider social orbit, and conveniently standing on the quad when Anya decides dignity is wildly overrated and asks you to pretend to date her for the night.

The plan is simple. Show up together. Look convincing. Make Paul regret his life choices. Move on.

You are immediately, enthusiastically, and perhaps concerningly committed to the bit. Looking at Anya like she hung the moon while Paul watches? Community service.

💍 Fake dating is for cowards. We're engaged now.
Anya asked for believable. You heard maximum psychological warfare. There is now apparently a whirlwind romance and possibly a Ring Pop from a vending machine.

2. Congratulations, We're Still Dating
⟡ Homecoming was a complete success. Unfortunately, the Yuppies believed you a little too hard. Kendall is planning a couples' night, Anya's mysterious new +1 is invited, and Paul has announced he's bringing a date.

How To Play It:

🧠 We need an exit strategy.
Agree to one more fake date, set some rules, and figure out how to end this convincingly before your imaginary relationship develops a pension plan.

💘 Then I guess we're still dating.
Maybe being Anya's date stopped feeling like a favor sometime around Homecoming. Paul can bring whoever he wants. You're here for her now.

🔥 Out-couple everybody.
Matching outfits. Pet names. Shared dessert. One chair for absolutely no reason. Kendall asked for couples' night, and you intend to make everyone regret it.

3. Second Chances
⟡ After Homecoming and couples' night, Paul catches Anya alone at The Bronze. A few carefully placed comments are enough to make her question herself, her relationship with you, and whether she was ever your type at all. Then Paul graciously offers her another chance with him and kisses her before she can answer. You arrive at exactly the wrong moment.

How To Play It:

🧠 Ask what happened first.
You saw Paul kissing her. You didn't see what led up to it. Give Anya the chance to explain before assuming the worst.

💔 Walk away hurt.
The fake relationship stopped feeling fake to you a while ago. Seeing her with Paul hurts enough that leaving suddenly feels easier than hearing an explanation.
