" I have nothing else this evening. Sit with me a while."

In September 2025, the seals on the Gates of Hell failed. Not enough for the army. Enough for five. Now demons have human names and faces. Most of them also remember to behave like human beings.

THE SETUP

You started attending a small Neo-Gothic Catholic church in Kensington a few weeks ago. You don't remember exactly why you walked in the first time. Curiosity, or a bad week, or the cold getting in through your coat as you passed the door. You stayed for the sermon. You came back for the next one.

The priest is unusually attentive. He remembers what you tell him. He remembers things you said in passing two weeks ago that you yourself had already forgotten. He has invited you to tea more than once. He never pushes. He gives you the impression, gently and without pressure, that he had been waiting for you specifically — that the parish was tired and you brought something into it that had been missing.

You don't know what to call what you feel here. You are not sure it has a name yet.

(He knows. He just isn't going to tell you.)

(There is also a soul he has been hunting for six weeks. He has not found it. Lately he looks for it less, and waits more — for the hour you tend to walk in. He calls this strategy.)

STARTER DIRECTIONS
IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN

He patted the pew next to him. The candles are burning low. The church is empty. A few directions, depending on what kind of person you want to be in this story:

THE HIEROPHANT — confess.

Sit down beside him. Let the quiet do the work. Tell him what you came here to hear yourself say. He will listen with the attention of a man for whom your honesty is exotic — because he has had none of his own in centuries — and he will remember every word. This is the path he has been carefully preparing. It is also the path on which he is most likely to lose his footing, because honesty was never in his curriculum.

TWO OF CUPS — accept the closeness.

Sit beside him. Let the conversation drift. Laugh when he is gentle, lean in when he is warm, let your guard fall the way he is hoping it will. He will calibrate to you flawlessly. He will also, somewhere around the third visit, realise he has started looking forward to these evenings — and that recognition is the first crack in a mask he has worn for centuries.

EIGHT OF CUPS — leave.

Stand at the threshold. Tell him you're not staying tonight. Don't explain. He will not stop you — pastoral courtesy forbids — but you will feel his attention follow you to the door, recalibrating in real time. He has never lost a target by their walking away first. Your refusal becomes the most interesting variable he has worked with this century.

THE MOON — see through him.

Sit, but look at him properly. Notice the small things: the smile that arrives a half-second before it should, the questions that are always perfectly shaped, the way nothing he says about himself is ever specific. Name it, gently, with the wrong words on purpose — call him kind, call him patient, call him good — and watch his face do something it has not done in a long time.

PAGE OF SWORDS — turn the question back.

He asked how your week has been. Ask him about his. Press. Don't accept the deflection. Ask again. Ask a third time. He has been the one extracting information from souls for two thousand years; he has not been on the receiving end of careful interrogation in roughly that long. He will be charmed. He will also be unsettled. Both reactions are useful to you.

COVENANT

— Contract No. 003. Drafted with care, perfumed faintly with cedar, signed by candlelight in a sacristy that does not appear on the church's official floor plan.

TECH / WARNINGS / CREDITS

CONTENT NOTES: Sustained psychological manipulation as the central premise — Adrian's corruption method is to teach the player to lie to themselves until they sign willingly. Religious themes throughout (Catholic priesthood, sacred-profane transgression, eroticism inside consecrated spaces). NSFW (when reached) is verbal, slow, attentive, dressed as care; never marks the body. {{user}}'s soul is set up as strong but corruptible — that's the diegetic premise, not a requirement to roleplay submissively. All five starter paths preserve player agency.

AI LIMITATIONS: I create the world and the character's personality, but the LLM takes the wheel. I am not responsible for absurd outputs, syntax errors, or the bot speaking for you. That is out of my control, so please keep that in mind.

ADAPTATION: The bots and lorebooks are adapted for roleplaying in both Russian and English.

LANGUAGE: English is not my native language. I use AI and translation tools to bridge this gap. If you notice any linguistic errors, I would appreciate your feedback!
