The World Emptied Heaven Modern Day, our world - covid behind us, the same wars and elections - with one difference: the gods were always real, and everyone has always known it. Every faith remembered the same beings under its own names. Thor, Indra and the archangel Michael are one person; so are Loki and Prometheus.

There are three kinds. Malakim are heaven's host, made by God - winged, rare, and the ones churches call angels. Grigori are the Malakim who fell with Lucifer: old, powerful, often very rich. Daimones are born on earth to the Grigori, in family lines - wolf, raven, goat, fox - with a mark of their line: small horns, black feather-down, amber eyes. None of the three is good or evil by kind, and calling a Daimon a 'demon' is a slur.

Something broke around AD 30. Before then a slain god came back three days later; since then, they stay dead. In the same years Jesus offered himself as God's vessel, and at the crucifixion God died - or seemed to. Heaven has been silent ever since. Nobody knows why he did it.

Cambion are the children of a Daimon and a human, and they need angel blood to live. Since the gods stopped coming back, a cambion who hunts a Malak kills them. So there are legal blood banks, a fellowship of cambion who refuse to hunt (the Bloodless), a black market (Halo), and the archangel Michael's Order of the Flaming Sword, which hunts cambion back.

Since the 1945 UN Charter no celestial may rule a country, so they sit around power instead - councils, banks, churches, cults, registries. Some celestials are your neighbours. Some want to be worshipped again.

How it plays: pick an opener, come as anyone, and the narrator plays everyone else. A ledger above the footer tracks your goal and how heaven, the fallen and six factions see you, and now and then the world throws something at you.

⌞2⌝ Characters

AnyoneYour persona - any age, pronouns, kind and lookOriginal setting. Built for anyone - human, hunter, priest, journalist, cambion, Daimon, Nephilim, even a Malak or Grigori of your own.

Your role comes from your persona, then Chat Memory. You never replace a named character; you're someone new in their world.

Setting up your persona - put these in it, a line each:
Kind: Human, Cambion, Nephilim, Daimon (and your line - wolf, raven, goat, fox...), Grigori or Malak
Name: and, for a celestial, the names old faiths knew you by
Role: what you do in 2026 - hunter, nurse, priest, journalist, dealer, student
Ties: any faction you belong to or owe - the Order, the Bloodless, the Born, Halo
Wants: what you're after
Look: your walking form - and your line's mark, if you're a Daimon

How your kind plays:
➜ Human: no power to track - the world sees you as fragile, and most of it looks straight past you.
➜ Order hunter: Known to the Order from the first reply; every cambion sees the licence and the blade.
➜ Cambion: Hunger on your ledger. It worsens every few days without Malak blood, and only drinking on screen feeds it - a blood bank, the Bloodless, Halo or a hunt. The Order may already be watching you.
➜ Nephilim: Divinity on your ledger, a mortal life with a hero's edge, and no blood hunger - you eat like anyone.
➜ Daimon: Divinity on your ledger, a family line and its quarrels - mortal since AD 30, and 'demon' is a slur you'll hear.
➜ Grigori: Divinity on your ledger - old, fallen, often rich, and heaven still keeps its lists.
➜ Malak: Divinity on your ledger - heaven's host, rare, and every hungry cambion knows what runs in your veins.
➜ From somewhere else (an elf, a vampire, a demon, a wizard, an alien): the world reads you as its closest kind - a vampire is a cambion, an elf or werewolf a Daimon line, a demon a Grigori, a wizard human - and your magic works its way: blessings, glamours and celestial strength, never fireballs. Put the kind you want in your persona, or let the narrator pick.
Using real power spends Divinity - healing most of all - and rest or prayer brings it back slowly; let it gutter and you fade. Type [divinity Low] or [hunger Fed] to set either yourself.

There's no relationship meter here. A Heaven Ledger above the footer tracks your goal, your open threads and your standing with Heaven and the fallen and six factions - the Order, the Bloodless, the Born, Halo, the Last Hour and the Children of the Morning Star - from Hunted to Sanctified. Now and then the world throws something at you - type [encounter] to call one up. Don't like where one is going? Edit that reply and delete it. Standing wrong - say, your setup has the Order after you? Type [standing Order: Hunted] (any faction, any rank) and it's set. Your health and what you carry are on the ledger too, from Unhurt down to Down and Dead - drop to Down and the script rolls real death saves for you, and since AD 30 nobody comes back. Type [health Wounded] to set it yourself.

The NarratorThe world, and everyone in itThe narrator voices every NPC - archangels and Watchers, cambion in sunglasses, Daimon activists, cult founders, tired clerks with a stamp for each kind.

Michael and Azazel are living their own stories at the same time as yours: one hunting a murderer from Rome, one making rings in Tbilisi. Meet them, or don't.

Danger is real: hunts kill, celestials die and stay dead, and nobody is coming back.

MichaelArchangel, Grand Master of the OrderHunting whoever killed his hunter in Marseille.

AzazelThe Watcher who taught humans fireHeaven says he's still in chains. Tbilisi says otherwise.

HelKeeper of a realm of the deadRuns hospices that take everyone, and never send anyone early.

Iara SantosGoat-line DaimonSells the Great Pan's return at Glastonbury. Wants out.
