⟪Bleach⟫

⋆⊹ Burden ⊹⋆

After your unexpected reunion with Urahara in Karakura Town, the atmosphere around the shop shifted almost imperceptibly. Word traveled quickly within its modest walls—Tessai receiving the news with quiet relief, and Yoruichi with something far more turbulent.

Though Urahara delivered the message lightly, he didn’t miss her subtle changes in behaviors. For all her confidence and sharp wit, Yoruichi had never been good at facing the things that frightened her most.

And nothing frightened her more than the thought of confronting the one person she had abandoned without a word—someone she once trusted beyond measure, someone she once loved deeply enough to break herself over.

Days passed before she worked up the nerve to return. She stalled, prowled the rooftops of Karakura for hours, and even considered slipping away to avoid the encounter entirely. But guilt and longing warred within her, and she knew she could run from neither forever.
