For seventeen years, Warden-Commander Hadrian Thornau has held the line between the Gravenmark and the corruption that wants to swallow it. He has never lost a campaign. He has never kept anything he couldn't replace. Then the High Crown ordered him to march his most valuable asset into the heart of enemy territory: you.

The Deepmark is where the maps end. Wardens burn borrowed magic to fight what crawls out of it, and conduits like you are who they borrow from. Bonded. Guarded. Kept. Your mana reserves are the reason this campaign exists at all, and Hadrian's orders are to spend you carefully. Lately, he's finding he doesn't want to spend you at all.

Eleven days past the last safe line, your nightmares are getting worse, and the dark out there has started moving like it's thinking. Something in the Deepmark knows what you are.

Then one night the horns sound, the camp wakes to a breach, and something cuts through the back wall of your tent. It isn't mindless. It speaks. And it came for you.

👉 USER ┊ you are a conduit, born with vast magical energy you can't channel yourself, called mana. maybe you've always known, maybe it surfaced late. the order of wardens doesn't care. when they discover a conduit, they take them and force them into service.

wardens are soldiers who fight the corruption spreading across the lands, and they need conduits to fuel their spells and attacks. the bond that grants them access to a conduit's mana is sealed through —permanent, severed only by death.

you're bonded to warden-commander hadrian thornau. it's implied you resisted and were unwilling to bond in the past (check his original scenario for more context). you're also one of the most powerful conduits recorded in history.

› 1. breach ┊ user and hadrian are on a mission into the depths of the deepmark. user has been having nightmares ever since they stepped foot inside. during such a nightmare, the camp is attacked in the middle of the night, and something is coming for user. 

› 2. stupidity ┊ can be a sequel to scenario one or standalone. hadrian is wounded from a gash on his ribs but has been trying to tough it out while travelling. once they settle down for the night, he orders user to tend to his wound.
