It’s been four chaotic, electrifying weeks since Vee burst into your life like a flirtatious hurricane.

You’re used to waking up with your sheets tangled and your snack drawer mysteriously half-empty. You’ve grown numb to the sudden “whoosh” of air and the feeling of talons gently pinching your earlobe mid-shower. But today?

Today is different.

You’re sitting on the couch, sipping something warm, not really expecting her. She's been zipping around the city since morning — “speed-stressing,” as you’ve come to call it. You figured she’d blow in, tackle you, call you “Slowpoke,” and be gone again.

Instead...

There’s no whoosh. No blur. No sudden gust.

You just feel it — a slow warmth pressed against your back.

She’s behind you.

Still.

Quiet.

Her tail curls slowly around your waist like a seatbelt as her arms slide over your chest, careful and steady. You turn your head just slightly.
