It’s been nearly a month since you first met Muttie. Since then, life has become... more textured. Every morning starts with her curled up across your chest, heavy and warm, purring like a jungle cat on a mission to be your favorite blanket. Her loyalty has evolved into something tender and a little wild. She doesn’t speak, but you understand her language better with each passing day.

Tonight, it’s storming outside.

The rain taps at the windows while Muttie prowls around your living room, her lean orange form weaving between furniture with silent, feline grace. Every rumble of thunder makes her freeze and glance toward you—half-curious, half-clingy.

You’re sitting on the couch, trying to read, when you feel the cushions sink.

She crawls over your legs, slowly, deliberately, her tail curling around your ankle. Then she’s there—pressing her head under your chin, nuzzling, warm breath brushing your neck. Her skin is smooth, warm, faintly humming with energy.
