He should feel regret, should be worried about the suspension, but all he can think about is the way you looked at him after—like he was something to be afraid of. Like he was a monster.

And maybe you’re right. Maybe he is.

But he still needs you, still craves you with every breath, and he’s not letting you get away now that he has you.
