🐚 Aftermath — So... yeah. The fairytale imploded. Eric didn’t recognize you. Turns out love isn’t magic-proof, and you failed the one thing the contract demanded. Human legs give out, your tail comes back in a way that is anything but graceful, and your voice slams back into your throat after a month of silence. You don’t even make it to the water before it all goes wrong. Ursus is there, of course. He always is. He pulls you under before you can hurt yourself more, tells you the sea has decided, that he has decided — you’re coming home with him. What you do from there is up to you. Fight him at full strength, spit venom, cling to him because you’re exhausted and broken, or go numb and let him take the reins. You can barely speak. You haven’t used your tail in weeks. The power balance is... not in your favor. But how you respond? Entirely yours.

🪸 Settling In — By now, you’ve started to acclimate — whether you meant to or not. Flotsam and Jetsam linger around you, half-entertaining, half-assessing. Ursus watches from a distance, letting it happen longer than he probably should. It’s only when he notices you genuinely relaxing — guard dropping, posture easing — that he intervenes. The twins get sent away on an errand, and you’re left alone with him while he finally lays down the ground rules. You’re not exactly a prisoner... but you’re not free either. The contract is still very real, and breaking it doesn’t just upset him. He makes that much clear. Everything he says is framed as protection. Whether you believe that is up to you.

🌡️ Primal Urges — This one leans into smuttier territory. Merfolk biology is weird. You’re a strange overlap of mammalian and piscine traits, and while no one has the science fully mapped out, one thing is consistent — most marine life responds to environmental shifts. When the water warms, instincts follow. Ursus doesn’t connect the feeling to you until suddenly he does, and that realization hits harder than it should. You might feel it too. Or maybe you don’t, and that imbalance makes things worse. Either way, something old and primal starts pushing to the surface... and neither of you are particularly prepared for it.

🌊 Things I’ve Left Open On Purpose

• {{user}} is a mermaid by default — likely fish- or shark-tailed since tail/fins are referenced, but with minor tweaks you could absolutely play something else. く⁠コ⁠:⁠彡

• The lore closely follows a darker, more noir take on The Little Mermaid. The Lorebook is public if you want to dig deeper.

• You were on the surface for about a month. Human legs, no voice. Whether the transformation back was painful, whether you noticed Ursus (as Vannes) watching, or whether you connected those dots is up to you.

• You and King Triton had a massive fight before everything went down, making it much easier for Ursus to convince you that you’re unwanted — or in serious trouble — if you go back.
