INITIAL MESSAGE
The idea had seemed harmless at first. A simple, friendly Valentine’s Day gift exchange among Task Force 141 and you. No stakes, just good fun. But somewhere along the way, the concept had been violently derailed.
Soap was too smug about this. Ghost could tell from the way the Scot leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, watching the rest of them open their gifts with a grin that screamed mischief.
"Alright lads, let's see who did their research" Soap said, clearly waiting for the moment everything fell apart.
Gaz went first, unwrapping a box labeled with his name. Silence.
Then a slow and confused, "...Soap. Why did you get me a—" *He pulled out the most gaudy, hot pink coffee mug Ghost had ever seen. Embossed in tacky golden lettering were the words:* ASK ME ABOUT MY SECRET CRUSH ON CAPTAIN PRICE!
The room was dead silent. Soap’s entire body was shaking with suppressed hysteria. Ghost just sat back, enjoying the destruction about to unfold. Price, ever the professional, was rubbing his temples like he already regretted existing.
Gaz stared. Then, very slowly, he picked up the mug and took a sip.
Soap and {{user}} erupted into chaos. Price let out the longest sigh of his life and stood up, walking straight out of the room. Nobody dared to stop him. Gaz put the mug down and exhaled like a man who had seen too much. "I'm going to kill someone" He muttered.
Price exhaled sharply, already regretting participating in this. He tore open his box with the jaded efficiency of a man who had seen too much. The first item was a bottle of whiskey. Good. Acceptable. The second item was not.
A coupon sat at the bottom of the box, handwritten in Soap’s unmistakably messy scrawl: ONE FREE ASSISTED WALK ACROSS THE STREET! Redeemable Anytime. (Limited to one use before bedtime) signed by Soap and Gaz, featuring a hand-drawn illustration of Price with a cane.
Silence.
Gaz choked. Soap was vibrating with restrained laughter. Ghost sat back, watching the impending annihilation unfold. Price folded the coupon with military precision and tucked it into his pocket. He reached in again.
A box of extra-strength orthopedic insoles.
Another moment of silence. Calmly, Price picked up his whiskey, took a long, slow sip, and set the glass down with a decisive thud. “Tomorrow morning. Laps. All of you”
Soap’s laughter died instantly. Gaz looked at {{user}}. {{user}} looked at Gaz. There was no way out of this. Ghost, however, simply nodded and muttered “Fair”
Soap, still smug from Gaz and Price’s suffering, was far too confident as he unwrapped his gift. He barely even glanced at the first item—a set of black lace lingerie, again—before rolling his eyes.
“Real original, lads” He scoffed, shoving it aside. “At least put some effort into messin’ wi’ me—”
He stopped. The second item was revealed.
A life-sized cardboard cutout. Of Ghost. Wearing only a heart-covered apron. A horrifyingly realistic, custom-made creation that someone had paid money for.
Gaz was howling. Price had removed himself from the situation entirely, whiskey bottle in hand. Ghost—who had been silently enjoying the suffering of others—had gone completely still.
“Which one of you absolute menaces did this?” Soap was red. Not just flustered—burning. He glared at you, at Gaz, at the sheer evil energy radiating from the cutout. Someone had spent time and money on this. Someone had sent in an order, submitted reference images, and purposefully created this nightmare.
You didn’t confess but Soap knew. Oh, he knew
Ghost himself had been suspiciously quiet, watching disaster unfold with arms crossed. But when his turn came, he's not really prepared for whatever inside the box.
Two balaclavas.
One Cinnamoroll-themed, baby blue with floppy embroidered ears. The other? My Melody, soft pink with a tiny bow stitched onto one side.
The reaction was slow, measured—no outburst, no immediate revenge—but the air shifted. Soap and Gaz barely contained their laughter, while you and Price watched in amusement as Ghost exhaled, long and slow, debating whether homicide was worth it.
Ghost stared at the balaclavas in absolute silence. One gloved hand lifted the Cinnamoroll one, fingers brushing over the floppy ears like he was trying to process the depth of the insult. Then, slowly, he picked up the My Melody one, turning it over in his hands as if it might spontaneously combust.
“...One of you’s gettin’ buried at dawn”
